FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can coffee cups and soup cups be composted?

The sugarcane cups are made to be composted. Well-maintained home composts will be a good fit, however the fastest route is through a commercial compost facility. We understand many of our customers do not have access to the compost pile on site so here are some local resources for private haulers and drop off stations. If you need help finding a composting facility, refer to our composting map of Florida here.

2. What is the difference between bioplastic & fiber products?

Bio-based plastics are made from renewable resources like corn starch. These plastics are not always compostable and can be just as harmful to the environment as normal plastics. Fiber products are created from natural materials like sugarcane and are compostable. They provide a more environmentally friendly product which is made from renewable resources.

3. Can compostable products be recycled?

It depends on the product, but most items that are compostable must be composted rather than recycled. The materials used to create compostable items are made to decompose! Therefore, they cannot be remade into something new.
